Words of Wisdom *Thursday*: Stop or Go...

"Look, look, look! While all of this sounds great, it means nothing if you don't write it down,"
These are the words my mother's potent voice spoke, interrupting me while I was on a roll...
"Write. This. Stuff. Down! Momma told me this growing up and it really is true—when you write things down, you tend to get them done. Plus, you have to write your goals down so you can have room in your brain for more. Get a tablet: red for stop or green for go."

Up until this point, I was writing down everything she was saying, taking things in, but this last part stumped me. "Red or green?" I repeated, waiting for clarification.
"Red meaning 'STOP' and take time to work on your goals; Green meaning 'GO' put in the work to accomplish your goals."

After writing these meanings down and thinking  about everything she said, I knew that this was not only Words of Wisdom for me, but possibly others as well.
I know from my days in home-school and from my research as a college student that there is a strong correlation between writing things down (not typing, but writing), actually remembering what you wrote, and being able to better use that content when it is time.

There is an odd connection between putting pen to paper that helps to get things done. My mother's color strategy for goals turned on a light bulb of remembrance about it all.

In writing this Words of Wisdom Thursday, I want you to take away 2 things: (1) sometimes things may not go as planned(1), but that doesn't mean that things can't turn out great regardless and (2) writing down your goals makes room for others, so what will it be for you: Red for STOP or Green for GO?

                                                                                     Note:
If you get a goal tablet (Dollar Store for the win, $1 each), I seriously want to know your answer to the above question.
Leave a comment or message (via here or IG) to let me know if you're Team Red or Team Green.

                       Until then...please like, share, comment, or subscribe....so I know it's real .

Bilal Qizilbash: Virtuoso of Knowledge

As a writer, you start to get a knack for knowing when a story is going to be a good one; nevertheless,   there are times when a story comes along so captivating, that you realize you’ve underestimated just how great that story really is...this was the truth that I recently experienced when interviewing Bilal Qizilbash: award-winning scientist; community leader; business owner, and speaker, who has been featured in a plethora  of prominent mediums ( Forbes, Business Insider, Yahoo Finance, etc.). While Bilal is laden with many sought-after titles, one of the aspects most admirable about him, is that the title he desires to consistently hold...is being “a decent human being.” As it happens, upon hearing the sincerity and positivity of Bilal’s words and the auspicious future that he desires to build for his community, decent only scratches the surface of the virtuous human being that is...Bilal Qizilbash. _________________________________________________________...

A True Virtuoso of Art

With a personality as radiant as her art, it's not surprising that Stephanie Arnwine has been afforded a plethora of great opportunities: sponsorships, autographed pieces, and even celebrity admiration regarding her amazing works. While these things alone could start to paint the picture of her being a virtuoso, Arnwine possesses even more attributes that can vividly attest to the reasons why she is truly deserving of the title…
