Between the continuous spread of #TheRona and other current events that seem to darken our days, it is such a refresher to see something positive in this chaotic world. Today, that positive refresher was personally delivered by our all-time favorite, patriotic hero:
While we are all used to this man showing off his love for America in his well-known MCU roles, Evans is doing his duty to country and state, in a unique and innovative way: by helping voters access vital information, regarding their electoral candidates.
This may sound simplistic, but Evan's new civic project "A Starting Point" is anything but. To those who attended the webinar launching of the site earlier today, you could easily tell how much work Evans, his friend actor Mark Kassen and entrepreneur Joe Kiani put into this project, and how difficult it initially was to bring it into fruition. The creation of this initiative required a lot of meticulous planning and gaining of trust, concerning the sought-after candidates. Nevertheless, Evans and his partners were able to gain that trust, recording the candidates' answers to hot topic issues that are significant to many voters.

In a world where the true intentions of political figures can often be misconstrued and convoluted—due to a plethora of interferences—A Starting Point provides you with more defined and succinct answers, directly from the candidates themselves. The site does so by allowing candidates from each political party (Republican and Democratic) to provide their views on pressing issues such as human rights, health, education, immigration, etc. by way of short videos. Candidates can also upload additional materials, such as links, more videos, etc. in the 3 sections of the site. Click the links below, to get a better idea of how each section functions:
1. A Starting Point ➡ 2. Daily Points ➡ 3. Counterpoints
While everyone knows me to be a huge fan of Mr. Evans and may therefore question my views on his endeavors as being possibly biased, the same cannot be easily said for A Starting Point; which gives everyone the opportunity to see more than just one side of certain issues: issues that are extremely significant when casting a vote. As stated by Evans concerning the site's main goal:
"Despite the fact that I have strong political opinions—it's no secret—the goal of this sight was to remove our subjectivity, and at least provide people a place where they can know, that this is a fair and balanced platform."
With there being no other platform that is quite as unique as A Starting Point—where politicians aren't talking over each other, running out of time before they can fully expound upon their points, etc.—it is clear to see why ASP is such a substantial game-changer, in the voting realm. As stated by Mark Kassen when asked what makes ASP different from other platforms:
"We're different because we only do one thing, those platforms are a can of information on a lot of subjects...they [voters] do have to weed through different subject matters; we don't have that problem."
If used correctly, the site can be your one-stop "starting" point (pun intended), to better decide whose political and moral values line up with yours, way before you rock the vote! Please let me know in the comments here or on my social media pages (below), what your thoughts are about A Starting Point. Also—incoming shameless plug for Chris Evans—If you haven't seen his limited series Defending Jacob, yet, you are not living your best #QuarantineLife! Seriously, it is a truly binge-watchable series, you will not regret it. Get into it people!
